Islam in the Bible, its Foundation and Belief
The “Bible Perversion” In Islam
Does the Quran mention the Bible being perverted?
What does the Quran say of those who lie in the name of God, and hide His truth to deceive others?
Part 1
Let us first refresh our memory on this subject, with the following few verses from the Bible.
JEREMIAH 8, VERSE 8
“How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.”
The children of Israel (Jews) perverted the law of God, by the evil pen of the scribes, the law of the Lord is no longer with them. The Bible of today is not the true authentic one, but it is the perverted copy which they modified.
JEREMIAH 23, VERSE 36
“And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.”
The children of Israel (Jews) perverted the Bible; it is no longer the word of God.
ISAIAH 10, VERSE 1
“Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;”
The children of Israel (Jews) wrote down lies in the book of God, and said it was from God; they perverted the Bible into evil lies.
I. JOHN 2, VERSES 18 & 19
“18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”
Many antichrist movements were out even from the time of the disciples. They said they were from the disciples and spoke the truth, but they were not of them, instead they told evil lies about them and they perverted the truth.
THE ACTS 20, VERSE 30
“Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”
These are the ones to which John refers; they went out from them but are not of them, they teach perverted lies about Jesus and his true disciples, to draw people after them. These people went out even at the time of the true disciples of Jesus.
ROMANS 16, VERSE 17
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.”
Deceivers were going around teaching a perverted gospel, of evil lies about the doctrine of Christ.
So what does the Quran say about the perverted Bible?
Does the Quran mention it as many prophets and disciples in the Bible itself did?
Does the Quran enforce it and warn us from it?
THE QURAN 2, VERSE 174
“Those who conceal Allah’s revelations in the Book, and purchase for them a miserable profit,- they swallow into themselves naught but Fire; Allah will not address them on the Day of Resurrection. Nor purify them: Grievous will be their penalty.”
THE QURAN 3, VERSES 187 – 189
“187 And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book (Christians and Jews), to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made! 188 Think not that those who exult in what they have brought about, and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think escape the penalty. For them is a penalty Grievous indeed. 189 To Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and Allah hath power over all things.”
THE QURAN 3, VERSES 75 & 78
“75 Among the People of the Book (Christiansen and Jews) are some who, if entrusted with a hoard of gold, will (readily) pay it back; others, who, if entrusted with a single silver coin, will not repay it unless thou constantly stoodest demanding, because, they say, “there is no call on us (to keep faith) with these unlettered.” but they tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it.”
“78 There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, “That is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah. It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it!”
THE QURAN 4, VERSE 44
“Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they traffic in error, and wish that ye should lose the right path.”
Part 2
What does the Quran say of those who lie in the name of God, and hide His truth to deceive others?
THE QURAN 4, VERSE 50
“Behold! how they invent a lie against Allah. but that by itself is a manifest sin!”
THE QURAN 5, VERSES 41 & 42
“41 O Messenger. let not those grieve thee, who race each other into unbelief: (whether it be) among those who say “We believe” with their lips but whose hearts have no faith; or it be among the Jews,- men who will listen to any lie,- will listen even to others who have never so much as come to thee. They change the words from their (right) times and places: they say, “If ye are given this, take it, but if not, beware!” If any one’s trial is intended by Allah, thou hast no authority in the least for him against Allah. For such – it is not Allah’s will to purify their hearts. For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment. 42 (They are fond of) listening to falsehood, of devouring anything forbidden. If they do come to thee, either judge between them, or decline to interfere. If thou decline, they cannot hurt thee in the least. If thou judge, judge in equity between them. For Allah loveth those who judge in equity.”
THE QURAN 10, VERSES 60 – 70
“60 And what think those who invent lies against Allah, of the Day of Judgment? Verily Allah is full of bounty to mankind, but most of them are ungrateful. 61 In whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur’an,- and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,- We are witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein. Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven. And not the least and not the greatest of these things but are recorded in a clear record. 62 Behold! verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve; 63 Those who believe and (constantly) guard against evil;- 64 For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity. 65 Let not their speech grieve thee: for all power and honour belong to Allah. It is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things). 66 Behold! verily to Allah belong all creatures, in the heavens and on earth. What do they follow who worship as His “partners” other than Allah. They follow nothing but fancy, and they do nothing but lie. 67 He it is That hath made you the visible (to you). Verily in this are signs for those who listen (to His Message). 68 They say: “(Allah) hath begotten a son!” – Glory be to Him! He is self- sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No warrant have ye for this! say ye about Allah what ye know not? 69 Say: “Those who invent a lie against Allah will never prosper.” 70 A little enjoyment in this world!- and then, to Us will be their return, then shall We make them taste the severest penalty for their blasphemies.”
THE QURAN 16, VERSES 61 – 70
“61 If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour). 62 They attribute to Allah what they hate (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that all good things are for themselves: without doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it! 63 By Allah, We (also) sent (Our messengers) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty. 64 And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe. 65 And Allah sends down rain from the skies, and gives therewith life to the earth after its death: verily in this is a Sign for those who listen. 66 And verily in cattle (too) will ye find an instructive sign. From what is within their bodies between excretions and blood, We produce, for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it. 67 And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise. 68 And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men’s) habitations; 69 Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought. 70 It is Allah who creates you and takes your souls at death; and of you there are some who are sent back to a feeble age, so that they know nothing after having known (much): for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.”
There are many great clear signs in the above verses, one of them being the Bee and how God produces from it honey, which in it we find healing for us. The Quran told us this fact hundreds of years before man and science reached the same conclusion about honey. This is one of the many things that the Quran told us about the future and all came true.
THE QURAN 58, VERSE 18
“One day will Allah raise them all up (for Judgment): then will they (disbelievers) swear to Him as they swear to you: And they think that they have something (to stand upon). No, indeed! they are but liars!”
THE QURAN 61, VERSE 7
“Who doth greater wrong than one who invents falsehood against Allah, even as he is being invited to Islam (submission to one God)? And Allah guides not those who do wrong.”
What does the Quran say of, and to those, who perverted the Bible and those who hide the truth?
THE QURAN 2, VERSE 101
“And when there came to them a messenger from Allah, confirming what was with them, a party of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know!”
THE QURAN 2, VERSE 146
“The people of the book (Jews and Christians) know this (book) as they know their own sons; but some of them conceal the truth which they themselves know.”
THE QURAN 3, VERSE 19
“The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will): Nor did the people of the book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.”
THE QURAN 3, VERSES 70 & 71
“70 Ye people of the book! Why reject ye the Signs of Allah, of which ye are (Yourselves) witnesses? 71 Ye people of the book! Why do ye clothe Truth with falsehood, and conceal the Truth, while ye have knowledge?”
THE QURAN 3, VERSE 99
“Say: “O ye people of the book! Why obstruct ye those who believe, from the path of Allah, Seeking to make it crooked, while ye were yourselves witnesses (to Allah’s Covenant)? but Allah is not unmindful of all that ye do.””
In conclusion, the Quran does mention the corruption that happened to the Bible, and how the Old and New testaments, the Torah and the Gospel, were perverted, and the truths were hidden. By that we have answered our last question about the Quran, the prophet and the message of Islam.
