Facts & Myth
The Job Jesus was Sent to Do
Jesus Christ told the Jews, they will not see him from that point on anymore, until they said “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.”
What was the job Jesus Christ was sent to do, and when did he complete it?
Jesus verified the correct understanding of the disciples, to what he told the Jews, and answered their questions. Jesus prayed to his God, explained what the power his God gave him, and said the work he was sent by God to do was completed.
Part 1
ST. MATTHEW 23, VERSE 39
“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.“
ST. MATTHEW 24, VERSE 3
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying; Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?“
After Jesus told the Jews how evil they were, and after telling them about the wisdom of God in sending prophets to them; wise men and scribes (see Matthew 23), Jesus ended his talk telling the Jews they were not going to see him from that point on anymore, until they said “Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.”
“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till you shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.“
The disciples came to Jesus privately after he finished his talk and sat on the Mount of Olives and they asked him to tell them, when were the things he talked about to happen, and what was the sign of his coming back, and the end of the world?
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”
Jesus then started answering their questions, telling them about the future, his coming back and the end of the world.
So what did Jesus mean when saying to the Jews, who they were seeking to catch him and kill him, they would not see him from this point on until they say “blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord?”
ST. MATTHEW 23, VERSE 39
“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
Did Jesus mean they would not see him henceforth until they believed that he was truthful and was sent to them from God?
If this is what Jesus meant, then the Jews did not see the truthful Jesus Christ from that time until this day. The Jews don’t believe in Jesus until this day.
If this is what Jesus meant, then the Jews were never able to catch him and as he truthfully said to them beforehand; he was lifted up to God saved and glorified without the Jews being able to follow or find him to arrest him, which makes his crucifixion impossible.
Or did Jesus mean they would not see him until another prophet is sent from God after him, and then Jesus will come back to this world from heaven?
If this is what Jesus meant, then the Jews did not see him from that day until he was honorably lifted up to the only true God, glorified and having overcome the world. No other prophet came in the name of God between the time of Jesus saying this to them, and the time he was lifted up out of this world up to heaven in front of his disciples.
If this is what Jesus meant, it makes him truthful and he is, in what he said to the Jews beforehand, and the Jews were never able to see him since that time, yet to catch him and then crucify him.
ST. MATTHEW 24, VERSE 3
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”
By the disciples asking Jesus these questions, which were related to those things that were to happen; the sign of his coming back and the end of the world – it shows that their understanding of what Jesus said, was that Jesus would be leaving the world soon and would not be seen anymore by the Jews from the time he told them they would not see him and until he comes back from heaven at the end of this world.
Therefore, the Jews did not see Jesus from that time, until he was lifted up to heaven and until this day, since Jesus Christ did not come back after he was lifted up to heaven in front of the disciples, just as he truthfully told them beforehand:
“Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither Ye cannot come.”
When Jesus heard the disciples’ questions, he started answering the disciples, telling them about the future, the sign of his coming back to the world and the end of the world (see Matthew 24), which proves that the understanding of the disciples of what he meant was correct, and so, the Jews didn’t see Jesus since that time as he truthfully said.
ST. MATTHEW 23, VERSE 39
“For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
This proves that Jesus was not crucified. The Jews didn’t see Jesus since then and until this day.
ST. JOHN 12, VERSES 49 & 50
“49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
Jesus Christ did not speak for himself, he is truthful and did the will of God who sent him, as God commanded him he said, and as he was commanded he spoke.
Jesus did not tell the Jews what he told them from himself, but as God commanded him to do so. Jesus did not tell the Jews he would go his way to God and they would not catch him, he did not tell them they were not going to see him anymore just for a challenge and without knowledge – Jesus told them all of that with the knowledge of God who sent him, Jesus was taught, told and commanded by God to say these things.
Jesus’ teaching was not nonsense and was not his own ideas, Jesus was sent to do a job and he was doing it. He was taught and told by the Lord of heaven and earth that after his job is completed; he would be saved, glorified and lifted up by and to the one who sent him without the Jews being able to lay a hand on him, yet to crucify him. Jesus was commanded by God to teach them those things.
So when did Jesus Christ complete the job he was sent to do?
Part 2
The great important hour Jesus told about and knew of; when Jesus would be glorified by God and he would glorify God in it. What was this hour Jesus told God, which came now?
ST. JOHN 17, VERSES 1 – 5
“1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”
Jesus lifted his eyes up to heaven where God is, and said; the hour has come for God to glorify Jesus so that Jesus could also glorify God. Jesus said; God had given him power over the flesh of those he was sent to; to give them eternal life. Jesus explained what this power given to him by God was; he said it was so they might know the Father is the only true God, and Jesus Christ is the one who God has sent. Who believes that there is only one true God who is in heaven sitting on his throne; and believes that Jesus Christ is truthful and not false, was sent by the only true God and did not come by himself, will have eternal life. This is the power God gave Jesus, Jesus continued and said, he had glorified God on earth and had finished the work God gave him to do on earth. Jesus then said; it is time now for God to glorify him where God’s own self is, with the glory God had for him before the world was.
What was this great important hour Jesus was taught, told and knew of; when Jesus would be glorified by God and he would glorify God in it? What was this hour Jesus told God, which came now?
Is it the hour Jesus would be caught, spit on, buffeted, smote, mocked, etc., and then crucified with another two criminals?
ST. MATTHEW 26, VERSES 67 & 68
“67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands, 68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?”
ST. MARK 15, VERSES 17 -20
“17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, 18 And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! 19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.”
Is it this hour when he would be humiliated with the worst kind of humiliation and by the people Jesus called the children of Satan, and the people of Hell, as in the below verses?
ST. JOHN 8, VERSE 44
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
ST. MATTHEW 23, VERSE 33
“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”
Would the truthful Jesus Christ by this be glorified; by the only true God who sent him? Is this how the great only true God glorifies, and would Jesus glorify God by this?
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.”
No, Jesus had finished the work he was given by God to do. At the time of this talk between Jesus and God, the job Jesus was sent to do on earth was completed. The work Jesus Christ was sent to do on earth, was to do the will of the Father, to know that the Father is the only true God who is in heaven, and that Jesus Christ was sent by God, to teach God’s Law and tell things that were to happen in the future. Jesus made that clear all during his message, and as in these below verses.
ST. JOHN 5, VERSE 30
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
ST. MARK 12, VERSES 29 & 30
“29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”
“ST. MARK 12, VERSES 32 -34
32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that darest ask him any question.”
ST. LUKE 18, VERSES 19 & 20
“19 And Jesus said unto him, why callest thou me good? None is good, save one, that is, God. 20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, honour thy father and thy mother.”
In doing all the work Jesus Christ did, he glorified God on earth.
Jesus also announced that he completed the work God gave him to do; he said the job was done and the message was completed. Jesus announcing the completion of his job at the time when the crucifixion did not yet take place, and when he had not been caught, is clear proof that Jesus Christ getting caught, mocked, spit on, humiliated and crucified by the Jews, is not a part of the work God sent him to do, it is not a part of his job, or a part of the message; or for it to be the most important part of his job, and be the message itself.
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.”
If Jesus Christ being crucified was a part of his job and of the message he was sent to teach, then at the time Jesus announced the completion of his work, he would still have the hardest most difficult part of it to be done. And if the crucifixion of Jesus was the most important part of his work, and the main reason for him being sent, then at the time Jesus announced the completion of his job; he would still have to do the hardest part of his work. Yet Jesus stated to God, in all confidence and pride, that he completed the work and taught the message he was sent to carry forth and having done so he was glorifying his God.
