Muslims believe that Mohammad, the prophet of Islam, is ‘that prophet’ who the Bible described was to be sent after Jesus Christ, and that the Quran, which is the Holy Book of Muslims, is the words of God, which He put in the mouth of His prophet, and which will be protected forever.

To examine this claim and the Muslims’ belief, let us ask the following questions and then see what answers we would find in the Quran, and if these answers support what the Bible and Jesus Christ told us.

1. Was the prophet of Islam sent after Jesus Christ?
2. Was he from the brothers of the children of Israel?
3. Is the Quran, God’s words put in the prophet of Islam’s mouth, and did God promise to protect the Qur’an from corruption forever?
4. What does the Quran say of Jesus, and does the Quran testifies for Jesus Christ?
5. Does the Quran mention the Bible being perverted?

Please note that all of the Quran verses in this publication are the English interpretation of the meanings of the Quran. Since the Muslims believe that the Quran is God’s words letter by letter put in the prophet’s mouth, therefore, only the meaning of the verses can be translated. And the Quran being God’s own words, letter by letter, from cover to cover, is only written in the Arabic language, which God chose as the language of His revelation.

Please also note; in the interpretation of the meanings of the Quran, some expressions and words were kept as is – in the original language of the Quran, which we will review in the coming sections of this chapter for the benefit of us accurately understanding the verses.

1. Was the prophet of Islam sent after Jesus Christ?
Before we move on, let us stop at the meaning of one word of the words we mentioned are kept in the original language of the Quran and was not translated.

The word “Allah” is a word that is misunderstood by some people, this misunderstanding sometimes might give the false impression that Muslims worship another god, or a different god than the one who revealed the Gospel to Jesus, the Torah to Moses and to all God’s prophets. So it’s important for us to understand the correct meaning of the word “Allah”.

Allah is an Arabic word means “The God“, or “God” with a capital “G”.

The Aramaic version of the Gospels, which is said to be the language Jesus Christ spoke, the Aramaic Gospels uses the root “hl0” (read from right to left) in place of the English word “God” used in the English translation. The pronunciation of “hl0” is “AaLaH” or “Alah”. Jesus Christ called God, “AaLaH”.

In Hebrew “God” is “‘eloahh”. The Arabic pronunciation of “‘eloahh” is “Allah”. Example: The word “servant” in Hebrew is “‘ebed”, in Arabic, servant is “Abed”, or “Abd”.

The BLB (Blue Letter Bible) links the Hebrew word “‘eloahh” directly to the Arabic word “Allah”, in its root and its meaning as “The True God”, it even shows the word “‘eloahh” in the Arabic alphabets, which is “Allah”, for those of you who read Arabic. As a matter of fact, it also shows the word “‘eloahh” in the Aramaic alphabets, which is “AaLaH”, and it looks almost the same as in the Arabic alphabets.

Christians and Jews who speak the Arabic language also use the word “Allah” to refer to the God they worship. “Allah” is also used in the Arabic versions of the Bible (in the Old and the New Testaments, the Torah and the Gospel) replacing the word “God” in the English versions.

Allah means “The God“, or “God” and that is what it means in all the verses of the Quran such as quoted in this study.

THE QURAN 3, VERSES 2 & 3
“2 Allah (The God), (there is) no god but He, the Ever living, the Self-subsisting by Whom all things subsist. 3 He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.”

Allah (The God), who is no God but He, is the one who revealed the Quran in truth, He is the one who also revealed the Torah (The book revealed to Moses) and the Gospel (The book revealed to Jesus Christ).

THE QURAN 3, VERSE 84
“Say: We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.”

God commanded prophet Mohammad to teach the belief in God, and in the Quran, and in what was revealed to all of the prophets before him, listing Moses and Jesus among others, God commanded prophet Mohammad to teach not to make any distinction between any of them, as they were all sent and commanded by the same one God, and only to submit and worship the same and only God.

THE QURAN 7, VERSE 157
“Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper.”

God talking about those who would accept and believe the prophet of Islam Mohammad, whom they would find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel.

The Bible and Jesus Christ were mentioned in the above verses of the Quran, and in many others, as we will see in this part of the study, which answers our first question; The Quran was revealed after the Gospel and after Jesus Christ.
